Billed as a true story about a secret British World War II organization, the Special Operations Executive. Founded by Winston Churchill, their irregular warfare against the Germans helped to change the course of the war and gave birth to modern black operations.

A deep dive conversation based on the moviescramble.co.uk review written by John McArthur.
During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector (Jorma Tommila) crosses paths with Germans on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Germans steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word "sisu", this legendary ex-commando will embody what sisu means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Germans throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back - even if it means killing every last German in his path.

A deep dive conversation based on the moviescramble.co.uk review written by John McArthur.
Oakland A's GM Billy Beane is handicapped with the lowest salary constraint in baseball. If he ever wants to win the World Series, Billy must find a competitive advantage. Billy is about to turn baseball on its ear when he uses statistical data to analyze and place value on the players he picks for the team. Moneyball is a 2011 American biographical sports drama film. It was directed by Bennett Miller and adapted by Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin from the 2003 book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game by Michael Lewis. It stars Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright, and Chris Pratt. The book is an account of the Oakland Athletics baseball team's 2002 season and their general manager, Billy Beane's, attempts to assemble a competitive team with half (or even a third) as much money as his rivals. In the film, Beane (Pitt) and his deputy, Peter Brand (Hill), scout the major leagues for undervalued talent by taking a sophisticated sabermetric approach to scouting and analyzing players, triggering skepticism and resentment within the baseball community.
